ZOL chief executive officer, Mr Denny Marandure, was a source of inspiration for Mutare Boys’ High students at last Friday’s Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony where he urged them work to hard in order to fulfil their dreams.

Mr Marandure, a former student at the school, said all the good things in life come through sweat.

“Work hard to prepare for your own future. Decide what you want to do with all the opportunities that you get and fulfil your dreams for success. It is about us and how we use our time. Laziness brings on sleep and too much sleep causes poverty. Moreso, winners are people who never quit,” he said.

MBHS headmaster, Mr Tendayi Gwashu said the school invited Mr Marandure to inspire the current crop of pupils at the institution as he is a successful former student.

“We needed him to tell our students how he has made it from here and give them courage and confidence that they can also do it because he did it in a big way. We are proud of him and we believe that he can help us shape our current crop of students by giving them a word of advice.

“His flowery academic achievements and outstanding international work experience can be so beneficial to our students,” said Mr Gwashu.

Hundred of parents attended the ceremony which full of pomp and funfair.

Among the top academic achievers was Tawanda Manhanga, who received the best Form One student prize, while Gift Mtisi got the best Form Two accolade. Tinashe Mutari and Tafara Maondo scooped the Form Three and Four best student prizes respectively.
