BUDDING gospel artiste Christine Gwesho  has bounced back with a soulful album titled “The Reason Why” after a two-year sabbatical.

She released her debut album titled “Ruregerero” in 2015. In an interview recently, Gwesho (24) said she was inspired by her life’s day-to-day experiences.

Recorded at Olin Anderson’s Kunashe Studios, the album carries eight songs, namely “The Reason Why”, “Jehovha Pindirai”, “Munhu Mufananidzo”, “Upenyu Irwendo”, “Svitsa”, “Zimbabwe”, “Musandisiye Jesu” and “Jesu Ari Kudaidza”.

“The Reason Why” is Gwesho’s plea to people to pin their hopes in God and never lose hope in the face of adversity.

She said some of the songs on the album were inspired by the difficulties she encountered while trying to recover from serious stomach pains in 2013.

“Being an artiste was more like a calling to me. My parents took me to doctors and scans after a severe stomach ache but to no avail. I kept motivating myself through prayer. I later resorted to singing and I later got healed miraculously,” said a bubbly Gwesho.

The Mutare-born artiste started performing at ZAOGA church conferences and crusades at the age of 20. She is the last born in a family of seven and is still single.

“I started performing at church conferences and crusades until I formed a group called the Voice of Grace.

‘‘I recorded my first album in 2015 and the response I got was amazing and inspiring. It was also encouraging that my music received favourable airplay on several radio stations,” she said adding that she was now working on a DVD due for release in January 2018.
