FORMER Africa Trust player, Anelka Chivandire, has found a new home in Triangle after inking a two year deal with the Sugar Sugar Boys as Triangle FC is affectionately known.

Triangle FC completed the capture of the Mutare-born star, and the player relishes chances of making instant impact on the domestic scene. Chivandire, who joined The Africa Trust in 2015, said he was happy to be play top flight football.

“I am very happy to sign a deal with Triangle FC. I am very grateful to the coach for giving me such an opportunity. I really wanted to play away from home so that I get more experience.

“Triangle is a good side with a good playing environment. I hope to help my team with the little experience that I gained at TAT and national team,” said an ecstatic Chivandire.

Chivandire, whose father was a defensive midfielder for the now defunct Red Seal, said his father inspired him to take up the game.

Chivandire began his football career at La Sakubva in 2007. He played for La Sakubva for three seasons before moving to Watsomba where he joined The Africa Trust.

Chivandire said he was greatly inspired by Antipas, Ngezi Platinum skipper Liberty Chakoroma, Sakubva born Ticha Mabvura, Onismo Bhasera, Willard Katsande and his former coach, Timothy ‘Sicho’ Masachi.

Chivandire had also been linked with a move to newly formed division one outfit Manica Diamond FC but he chose to join the ‘Sugar Sugar’ boys.

The youngster explained why he snubbed Manica Diamond FC offers after being picked during the club’s trials at Sakubva stadium.

“I was picked among the top players by Manica Diamond FC officials but I decided to join Triangle. I still want to further my education and I feel Triangle is a better environment for that.

I completed my A level and I hope to go back to school next year and I am yet to decide on the program that I want to do,” he said.

Triangle FC coach Taurai Mangwiro confirmed signing Chivandire.

“I can confirm that we have signed Chivandire. He is now part of us and we hope to have a good season with him. We started our training on Monday and he has been part of the training seasons,” said Mangwiro.
