A 50-YEAR-OLD Zimunya woman on Monday appeared in court for assaulting her daughter-in-law over her husband’s clothes. Clarah Chisamba of Zimunya is alleged to have assaulted Musawenkosi Makhamani. She appeared before Mrs Yeukai Chigodora and pleaded guilty. Mr Fletcher Karombe told the court that on June 29 at around 8am at Mapfunde homestead, Chisamba approached Makhamani and asked her why she was selling her husband’s clothes.

“Makhamani told her that she wanted to use the money to buy food since her husband was not taking care of his children. A misunderstanding arose and Mapfunde started shouting at Makhamani. She then assaulted her,” said Mr Karombe.

Mrs Chigodora slapped Mapfunde with $50 fine or 30 days imprisonment. She urged her to solve her disputes amicably rather than resorting to violence.
