Blessing Rwizi Weekender CorrespondentA MUTARE man got a bombshell from his wife last week after she revealed before the court that she no longer loved him.
Wilson Usada was dragged to court by his wife of more than five years, Anastacia Mangai who was seeking protection against him.
Miss Nyasha Kuture presided over the matter.
Mangai described Usada as a disrespectful and a violent husband.
She told the court that her parents took her away from Usada, following serious threats, insults and assault in their marriage, over the past five years.
“I have had enough Your Worship. My parents took me away from him following incessant threats, insults and assaults over the years,” said Mangai.
“Now I am staying with my brother, but he keeps visiting me, embarrassing me before the entire neighbourhood. He is also attempting to take away my five-year-old child. I no longer feel safe and I need a protection order. My child is still too young. This man should stop calling or visiting me.”
Asked if he had any problem with the application, Usada told the court that Mangai was still his wife and he loved her.
“This woman is still my wife and I am surprised that she no longer loves me. She was at my place recently and spent time with me. All she is saying are lies.
The court cannot give her the protection order because even if she no longer wants me, I should give her parents a divorce token first. She also has my child and I need to see this child as often as I can,” he said.
Miss Kuture advised Usada to file a letter of opposition and get back to court on April 7 with witnesses.
