DANGAMVURA-BASED artiste-cum model, Oreen Ciara Phiri, believes she has what it takes to be the next hottest female artiste in the local music industry.
She is determined to leave a mark in the music industry and take her works across the borders.
Phiri has just released six tracks as part of her strategy to promote her debut album which will be released before the end of the year.
“I started doing music when I was nine years old. I started off by writing poems and articles before jumping into music. I never took it seriously until I reached the age of 12.
“I continued working hard until 2016 when I started recording. It was not easy at all for my family to accept that I wanted to take music seriously. My mother did not want me to pursue a music career.
“She later gave me the green light after discovering that I had recorded some tracks,” she said.
Phiri said she was greatly inspired by M.E.T.H, Charley Nize and Abel T.
“I am happy with my quality of music. I hope the singles will be well received. My aim is to have a full album soon. I was inspired by M.E.T.H, Abel T and Charley Nize,” said the 19-year-old songstress.
Some of the tracks that she has produced include, “All for Me”, “Chiuya Kani”, “Ronda”, “Non Like My Paps”, “Ngikutanda Unjalo”, “Handichakude” and “Summer Time”.
The songs were recorded at Big Jocka Records.
