DENDERA crooner Tryson Chimbetu has taken the initiative to market his latest — “Kana Mazogara” — by lining up live shows outside Harare.

Tryson, who took over Marxist Brothers following the death of his father Naison, has done well to keep the dendera brand alive despite a litany of challenges, among them his marital woes.

The dendera protégé tonight (Friday) takes the 10-track project to Mutare when he performs at Club Mandisa.

He last performed at the venue more than two years ago.

The album, which features musicians Soul Jah Love and Andy Muridzo, exposes Tryson’s lyrical ingenuity and guitar strumming prowess, especially on songs “Chisipite”, “Bonus”, “Ndazomuwana” and “Chipoko”.

Andy Muridzo features on “Amai Maria” while Soul Jah Love features on “African Girl”.

In a bid to take dendera to a new level, Sekuru Dhimba, as Tryson is affectionately known, presented the project in a distinct and unique way by fusing contemporary digital touch and live guitars.

Tryson believes his latest offing will scale his musical career to dizzy heights.

“I am happy with the feedback I am receiving about the album, and it is so positive and encouraging.

“We have embarked on a nationwide tour to market the new album so that it infiltrates all corners of the country.

“We respect our fan base in Mutare and are going to make sure tonight’s gig is a memorable one,” he said.
