THREE DANGAMVURA men were each fined $100 after they were arrested for being troublesome and persistently following people to forcefully make them board commuter omnibuses to Dangamvura. The complainant of the matter was the state represented by Wellington Chamunodisa who is a member of the ZRP.

Brian Magada (33), Silas Murahwa (24)and Courage Munodawafa (29)appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mr Innocent Bepura and pleaded guilty to the charges as read in section 40 of the Road Traffic Act chapter 13:11 ‘touting for passengers’. On October 30 2017 around 1930 hours Constable Chamunodisa was on patrol with Constable Marufu and three others in Mutare Central Business.

By the time they passed the Dangamvura rank they saw the accused persons touting for passengers destined for Dangamvura and arrested the accused persons. When they were asked why they were touting, all the three accused persons told the court that it was just a way of trying to survive. Mr Bepura told them to try and earn a living through lawful means.
