IN a unique and exciting development for local entertainment fraternity, sungura music lovers Mafancho will be launching a sungura mixtape
The four-hour long mixtape contains sungura oldies from musicians System Tazvida, Cephas Karushanga, Marko Sibanda, Pied Pipers, Khiama Boys, Zvishavane Stars, Gakamoto Jumbo Stars, Leonard Dembo, Leonard Zhakata, Simon Chimbetu, R‘n’K African Sounds, Joseph Garakara, Gift Amuli among others.
Most music lovers were used to hip hop, reggae, soul music mixtapes before Mafancho created the sungura jam.
He will tomorrow (Saturday) present the mixtape at the Giantz Bar, situated in Dangamvura where scores of professional and amateur pool players will converge for the Delta Beverages-sponsored Carling Black Label one man pool tournament.
The experienced wheel spinner will entertain scores of revellers expected to throng the ghetto for the potentially-explosive tournament that will see winners walking away with several prizes. The tourney which will also be filled with entertainment will see 100 players battling for supremacy. One of the organisers, Joseph Joromani, fondly known as JJ, said registration was in progress.
“Registration is in progress and we are happy with the response we have received so far. As entry requirements, one has to buy six pints on Carling Black Label or a six pack of the same brand.
“It will be a combination sport and entertainment and we would like to urge people to come in numbers and be part of the galore.
“Preparations are at an advanced stage. We have held several oversubscribed tournaments and we are looking forward for yet another intriguing contest,” he said.
