HARARE-based sungura ace, Romeo Gasa, popularly known as “Simbi Hombe”, will return to Mutare for a date with his fans at Club Mandisa in a potentially explosive gig slated for tomorrow (Saturday).
Gasa, who fronts a youthful sungura outfit Extra Valembe, said he will play all songs from his yet-to be christened album due for release this March.
“We urge all our fans to come in their numbers and support us as we will be sampling new songs from our forthcoming album to be released in March. Our fans have fallen in love with the tracks. We will blend the songs with our old discography, including hits from our recent album, ‘Bho Zvekuti’.
“We last performed in Mutare in December and we were overwhelmed by the support that we received in the eastern border city,” said the talented bassist, who spoke through manager, Munya Danha.
The outfit is also working on a DVD album that will contain hits from their previous album.
“We are also working to have videos of songs selected from all our albums. It’s something which we are doing and we will release it any time from now,” he said.He hinted on the forthcoming album.
“This is going to be the best Romeo Gasa project which will take the local sungura music by storm. We are working with the best producers,” the former Chibuku Road to Fame winner added.
The social commentator has five albums under his belt, namely ‘‘Sungura Kompressor’’, ‘‘Simbi Hombe’’, ‘‘Pin Code’’, ‘‘Mupedza Nyaya’’ and ‘‘Bho Zvekuti’’.
