The big screen back in Mutare

IN a refreshing development, showbiz enthusiasts and sporting fanatics can now watch their favourite latest movies and sporting events on a big screen after an entertainment company – DT Entertainment – set up a movie house at Courtauld Theatre recently.

The company took over from Ntellex Cinemas who faltered and closed shop just after take off two years ago. The new company started off on a high note three weeks ago with an array of movie genres such as animation, thriller, action, mystery, drama, horror and sci-fi.

They will also show the UEFA Champions League final pitting Real Madrid and Juventus to be played tomorrow (Saturday).

The brains behind the new look movie house, Daisy and Tawanda Mariga, in an interview, said their love for movies and latest showbiz trends inspired them to bring entertainment to the eastern border city.

“DT Entertainment is targeting all age groups as we show a variety of movie genres. Animation, thriller, action, mystery, drama, horror, sci-fi are just a few of the genres we show. Currently, we have only been screening on Saturdays. We have received a good turnout and as the demand increases we will increase the number of viewing days and times,” said co-director, Tawanda.

All the movies are beamed in High Definition 1080P quality on an enormous screen with clear sound and excellent picture quality.

So far they have screened latest movies such as Moana, Don’t Breathe, Logan, Storks, Hacksaw Ridge, The Great Wall, Beauty and the Beast, The Shack and The Legend of Tarzan.

This weekend they will be showing Trolls, Kidnap and John Wick Chapter 2. Snacks such as flavoured carbonated juices, crisps, chocolates and popcorn are in store.
