TEXTA Africa assistant coach Rocksana Guente was impressed by the level of technique exhibited by Tenax FC star Clarence Mbauya during a friendly match played at Municipal stadium in Chimoio on Saturday.

Despite losing 1-0, Tenax produced a breathtaking performance in front of 6 000 fans who came to watch the game. Mbauya was the star of the show. The Mozambican coach was left impressed by his five star performance. Texta Africa’s Congolese striker Joseph Nyland scored the only goal that made the difference, just a minute before the breather.

He hailed Mbauya’s performance and gave his analysis on the player.

“He is a very good player and a play maker. He gave my defence a hard time. The boy will go far if he continues to work hard. I was also tempted to lure him to join my club,” he said.

Despite their win, Guente acknowledged that Tenax were more clinical than his side.

“We have a lot of names in our team but the Zimbabwean side did a good job. It was a tough game I have to admit. We dominated the match only in the first half. Second half was not ours, we struggled all the way. Tenax has a lot of quality and they gave real good performances against us. Their goal keeper (Brian Chitakatira) did so well. Tenax FC must work on their defence which is porous but otherwise it is a very good side,” he said.
