THREE men who bedded a consenting 15-year-old girl have been arraigned before the courts on allegations of having sex with a minor.
Leon Weaper (18), Blessing Masamvu (21) and Godfrey Sadomba (19) were charged for contravening Section 70 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
Weaper and Sadomba did not waste the court’s time and were both convicted on their own guilty pleas when they appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mr Innocent Bepura last Friday.
They were sentenced to 420 hours of unpaid work each at Dorapindo Clinic and Dangamvura Police Station respectively.
Masamvu denied the charge insisting that the minor had lied to him that she was 16 years old.
The case goes for trial on March 30. He was remanded in custody.
Public Prosecutor, Mr Fletcher Karombe told the court that the minor who is a Form 2 student at Nyamauru High School in Dangamvura fell in love with Weaper, Sadomba and Masamvu.
“On March 18, 2017, Weaper proposed love to the minor and she accepted. The suspect then picked the minor at Matimba Shopping Centre the same day and had consensual sexual intercourse with her all night. She left the following morning.
“On March 21 the minor met and fell in love with Sadomba. They spent the whole day together until around 5pm when they boarded a bus to Dorapindo.
“They had consensual sexual intercourse. After having sex the minor left for Matimba Shopping Centre alone where she allegedly met Masamvu who also proposed love to her and she agreed.
“They then proceeded to Masamvu’s place of residence and had consensual sexual intercourse until around 10pm the same night when her elder sister came looking for her,” said Mr Karombe.
After her elder sister found her at Masamvu’s residence she asked her what she was doing. She then revealed that she had slept with all three men.
A police report was made.
