SOLO guitarist and Afro-Jazz sensation, Steve Chikotie will soon release a new album titled “Words spoken and unspoken” which will feature renowned Afro-jazz musicians such as Brian Nhanhanga.

Chikotie revealed in an interview recently that despite his busy schedule, he will make sure that his fans from across the country would have something to smile about next month. He last released the album titled Hallelujah in January last year.

In a refreshing development for his fans, he is also expected to drop three videos from his previous works. Although he could not reveal names of tracks to be contained on the seven-track album, he said Too Open band member, Brian Nhanhanga will feature prominently on lead guitars.

He has also lined up promotional shows in Victoria Falls, Harare and Bulawayo as he seeks to market his brand to new audience.

“I recently recorded three tracks which are, Why Why, Choices and Moving on in collaboration with Brian Nhanhanga of Too Open, Blessing Muparutsa of Colour Blue, Tamiswa Chirema as well as Tinashe Mukarati on horns.

I would like to apologise to my fans for starving them. They will, however, have something to smile about as I will be dropping an album featuring some of the finest bandsmen and vocalist in the country,” he said.

The song, Chikuru rudo, which has been among the crowd’s favourite at Karaoke nights held every Friday at Wise Owl Motel, will also be carried on the forthcoming album.

Chikotie revealed that the Karaoke music sessions have moulded him into a better musician as he meets new and old fans who always challenge diversify his music and do better. The sessions have suddenly turned the motel into a formidable entertainment hub for jazz music lovers.

Chikotie is tonight and tomorrow expected to thrill music lovers at the motel with some cool jazz. A member of the motel’s management team, Joshua “Bla Josh” Makaya said: “Jazz music lovers should brace for yet another exhilarating night with Steve Chikotie. We would like to thank scores of patrons who always attend the sessions.”
