MUTARE-based Zimdancehall singer, Inky V is perhaps one of the city’s brightest musical prospects.
Inky V, whose real name is Charles Robert Saurombe, has released three hot singles “Ndinopombonoka”, “Chat Chat” and “Kure”, which are receiving rave reviews on local radio stations.
In a move aimed at showing the nation how serious he is about his music, the artiste has released a video for his song “Ndinopombonoka”.
The video was directed by Nigel Zenda and Tatenda Dhliwayo.
The talented singer expressed optimism about the new offing and the overwhelming support from the fans.
“People who have heard my music are really appreciating it; the response is just awesome. It was not easy for me to be where I am right now. My parents at first were not supportive. I am glad because it is now making sense to them and they are now supporting me,” he said.
Having grown up in Chikanga, Inky V’s songs are inspired by youth life in the ghetto.
He said that he sings about what he comes across daily.
He started singing at the age of 13 while at St Patrick’s High School where he instantly made fans as he participated at various platforms.
“There are things that happen here in the ghetto that are so interesting. In fact, I get inspiration from the people here. Their lifestyles, aspirations and challenges make me want to pen more songs. I want to inspire ghetto youths, as I am one of them,” he said recently.
