Teachers and students from far and wide last Saturday made history at St Augustine’s High School when they joined the host school, Tsambe, to participate in the launch of an Ubunthu-based Behaviour Change programme that will see the birth and rebirth of new girl learners guided by principles of moral rearmament.

The founder and executive director of the organisation that facilitates the Girls Of Substance Movement, also The Manica Post guest education columnist, Morris Mtisi, thanks all the schools that made this launch a success, particularly the teachers that accompanied the learners.

Special mention goes to the Director of First Class Academy, Mr Mutsongodza, who made available the FCA school bus to ferry other independent colleges’ student representatives to and from St Augustine’s.

The teachers at the launch chose Mr Chivhuro, principal-Herentals Group of Colleges and Schools, to be the interim chairperson of the Girls of Substance Movement steering committee.

He is going to be deputised by Mrs Muharu . . . Guidance and Counselling Department head-St Augustine’s –Tsambe.

The schools and their teachers are determined to root out moral decadence in their respective schools, in compliance with the new curriculum’s call for Ubunthu-based moral rearmament programmes.
