MANICA Praise Team, a fairly new gospel music ensemble based in Rusape is set to storm the Zimbabwe music scene with its debut album titled Manica Praise Volume 1.

The 12 track scorcher is expected to hit the streets end of this month.

Led by Givemore Makunika , the group has been receiving rave reviews from people every time they take up to the stage and some of the tracks on the forth coming album like Makana, My God is Alive and When Jesus says yes are already drawing attention from the listeners.

The album is being recorded at Mark sounds studio. The group was founded by Givemore Makunika and it was formed in 2016 with the aim of evangelizing through music. The album features songs like Makanaka; When Jesus says yes, Our God is permanent, Tauya kuzomushumira, I long to worship you, Ndibvumbamire Ishe, Far Off, Mbiri Kunashe amongst others.

Although it is their first project, Makunika said that they are putting a lot of effort to come up with a well polished project that will appeal to people of all age groups. He also said the main aim is to evangelize to the lost souls through music.

“Manica Praise Team was formed in December 2016. It is made up of twenty five members who include the instrumentalists. Of the twenty five, twelve are ladies while thirteen are males. We have a passion for souls. We are to spread the word of God through music. The members of the group are from various churches.

“The music is strident and full of verve and innovation giving gospel music a new texture and taking it to another dimension. I am convinced that our ‘baby’ has the competitive edge necessary to make waves in Zimbabwe’s music industry. We are also working on videos and live shows as band,” he added.
