Rusape gets new town secretary

THE Local Government Board has appointed Mr Solomon Gabaza as the substantive Rusape Town Council secretary. Mr Gabaza (47), who was the town treasurer, was unanimously endorsed by nine councillors who attended a special full council meeting on Tuesday.

Mr Gabaza has seven years experience at Rusape Town Council, holding key positions such as administration officer, treasurer and acting town secretary. Before joining Rusape Town Council, Mr Gabaza worked as teacher, auditor in the then Auditor and Contrompoller-General’s Office, OK Zimbabwe and Spar Zimbabwe.

He holds various qualifications such as B.Comm Accounting and Master of Business Administration. He is also a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants. RTC chairman, Alderman Amon Chawasarira, said they were happy with the development.

“We are happy that the ministry and the board concurred with us that Mr Gabaza is the best person to lead this town. We have confidence in him because he has the qualities of a competent leader,” he said.
