With two months left before this year’s harmonised elections take place, the electorate should be encouraged to make the right decision and vote for a party that has policies that are people oriented, listens to their problems and eager to uplift their living standards.

It is worthy to note that, according to Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), there are 128 political parties that have so far registered to participate in this year’s harmonised elections which are scheduled for 30 July 2018. However, it should be noted that most of these political parties are just fly by night outfits without any proper party structures and real political ideologies to market themselves to the electorate.

In that regard, it is imperative to consider that the revolutionary party, ZANU-PF is now a rejuvenated political party, under the visionary leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Since he took oath of office in November 2017, President Mnangagwa has been working tirelessly to improve the status of the country’s economy as well as the living standards of every citizen.President Mnangagwa’s mantra has been; the economy should be prioritised more than politics and his administration has been true to his word.

The re-energized ZANU-PF party has so far made several adjustments in its policies so as to suit the current needs of its people.

When President Mnangagwa assumed office, his main thrust was to listen to the voice of the people.

The President has been interacting with a number of various organisations that include women groups, youths, war liberators, the business community and many other groups with a view of hearing and resolving the challenges that these different groups are encountering in a bid to ensure sustainable development for the country.

Recently, the ZANU-PF Youth League organised a Youth Convention in Gweru, where youths from all the countries’ ten provinces met   and interacted with President Mnangagwa to discuss economic issues and business opportunities that the ZANU-PF government will offer them if elected into power.

President Mnangagwa is action oriented as he believes in fulfilling the promises made to the people by his Government.

Most promises that have been made so far in the new dispensation have been fulfilled. For instance, the President, promised to pay all allowance arrears that it owed all health practitioners employed by the Government.

Nurses were paid their dues, and most civil servants have been also paid their 2017 annual bonuses.

Certainly, this depicts how serious the new dispensation is in fulfilling its promises.

The six months that President Mngangagwa has been steering the wheels of ZANU-PF, a lot of positive projects have been implemented.

The ZANU-PF Manifesto themed, Unite, Fight Corruption, Develop, Re-engage and Create jobs resonates well with President Mnangagwa’s vision of developing the nation.

As of now, President Mnangagwa has re-engaged with many international nations and economies in efforts to mend bilateral relations and the quest to open trade markets with other nations.

The President has so far amended investment laws to ease the way of doing business locally. Also, after he made a declaration that Zimbabwe is open for business, a number of investors both local and foreign investors have been showing their commitment to invest in different sectors of the economy which include mining, agriculture and energy.

The renewed ZANU-PF has showed its interest in fighting corruption, a situation which will improve the way in which public funds will be handled.

As it stands, the national revenue collector, Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, (ZIMRA) recently surpassed its April target as a result of its efforts inplugging revenue leakages in its operations.

ZANU-PF is the only party that is committed to the development of the country’s economy. To that end, the electorate should be encouraged to rally behind a party that has a vision of improving the state of the nation and their living standards.
