Rejected by man, approved by God

Hope we all had a wonderful festive season and I would like to begin by saying compliments of the season. My hope is that we all managed to put the past behind us and we are prepared to tackle the brand new year in our different areas of activity.

While we are in a new dispensation and a new year there are some among us who may not be enjoying as others are or who may not be as excited and expectant as others because of a serious human behaviour called rejection. Yes, rejection.

All creation has an ability to reject or be rejected because of certain reasons which include conditions, health, system or sensitivity. Of all creation it is the human being who suffers most as a result of rejection. Rejection can mean being disowned, lack of acceptance or accommodation, lack of acknowledgement of capabilities, value or significance.

When you are rejected it affects you morally, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. It destroys your confidence, zeal or desire to do things or to achieve anything in life. People experience rejection in families, churches, companies, politics, colleges, or schools. In families people can sideline you in important decisions and events.

At work promotion and recognition of whatever form by passes you even if you feel and know that you are competent. In churches where love and good neighbourliness is preached people still experience rejection and you have certain classes and clicks forming.

We can’t leave out politics because as recent as late last year we all saw what happened but I want to speak and encourage someone because even myself have been a victim of rejection at some point but through determination and the grace of God I am triumphing and many others have also triumphed.

I have discovered something important in the Bible and in my life and it is the fact that God has a soft spot for the rejected. The word of God is full of people who were rejected either by their families, society or friends but still despite all this rejection they went on to make it big. Being rejected by people is not an issue but being rejected by God is because king Saul was rejected by God and his end was never pleasant.

But when people reject you and God loves you, then all is well. That’s why Paul the apostle asks and say ‘If God is for us , who can be against us?’ Joseph was rejected by his brothers but he went on to be second in command in a foreign land, Egypt and eventually those who had rejected him had to bow before him as he had been shown in dreams.

Those brothers who had rejected him came to him for sustenance because they hated Joseph for no reason but Jehovah God loved him. Listen,- there are those who are rejecting you now, those who are refusing to acknowledge you, refusing to treat you fairly, don’t despair my brother or sister because the heavens are watching over you for your good. You are being mistreated it’s okay though it’s not okay, God is working a work on your behalf.

It’s going to come out good for you. Jephtah was rejected and ejected by his step brothers because they didn’t want to share the inheritance with him for he was a son of a harlot. But you know what, soon a war broke out and the same people who rejected and ejected Jephtah turned to him for help because he had become a might man of valour. Just stay steadfast and focused in your moments of rejection because those who are doing that to you are going to look for you one day for solutions and help.

David was condemned to the sheepfold, his brothers belittled him but grace found him. He was despised by man but God esteemed him high to the extent of being a man after God’s heart. Our current president, His Excellency Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa was rejected and ejected in politics but today he is the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

Our Lord Jesus Christ was rejected and killed by the people he had come to save but because of his holiness, humility and obedience he was given ultimate victory over death and sin and he was eventually given a name that is high above every other name in heaven, earth or under the sea, that at the mention of the name of Jesus Christ EVERY KNEE MUST BOW DOWN.
