PROPHETIC Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder and leader, Prophet Walter Magaya, has given Garikayi Zindi another house in Harare in fulfilment of a request by the ‘miracle boy’ for a property in the capital city and closer to the cleric.

Prophet Magaya has extended one of his houses in Waterfalls and within the vicinity of the PHD Ministries headquarters as per request by Gari.

The charismatic clergy, however, has not revoked the house in Rusape.

Gari was full of surprises in February this year when he was handed over keys to a five bedroomed and fully furnished house in Rusape but later requested that Prophet Magaya get him an alternative residence closer to him, arguing that Rusape reminds him of his haunted past.

Gari argued that he wanted to completely disassociate himself from his retarded background and start a new lease of life in a new and welcoming environment a request to which Prophet Magaya pledged to look into.

Responding to questions on the sidelines of the Night of Turn Around 5 held last Friday at his PHD Waterfalls HQ Prophet Magaya said after a clear analysis of the request, he willingly extended one of his several houses in Waterfalls to Gari.

“He is staying in one of my houses here in Waterfalls. It was his request to stay in Harare closer to me, and I granted the request by offering him one of my several houses in Waterfalls closer to the church. The house in Rusape is still there. It is his house. It is in his name and he is the only one who will decide what to do with it. Whether he keeps it or sells it, it is purely his decision because I have offered him another house here,” said Prophet Magaya.

Prophet Magaya expressed satisfaction at Gari’s cognitive recovery, adding that he would continue undergoing rehabilitation and counselling until such a stage when he is declared medically fit.

“Gari is fine, very okay. He is now leading a public life and doing everything on his own. You should talk to him before you go and I can tell you he has gained more than 80 percent cognitive ability. Of course, he has been in the streets for many years and needs continuous rehabilitation, but from a social perspective, he has recovered in a very big way,” said Prophet Magaya.

The clergy added that Gari was intelligent, hard working and loves gardening. He said he also reads a lot.

“Sometimes he joins us when we do construction. Gari also loves to do gardening. He does his gardening at his new place and he is good at it. He is extremely intelligent and also loves reading. We are providing him with lots of literature,” said Prophet Magaya.

Gari followed Friday night’s proceedings from the crowd, where he could be seen dancing to music and smiling.

When this reporter approached him, he was generous with a handshake and nodded affirmatively when asked if he was doing fine.

“I am happy here (at the new residence in Harare). The prophet gave me a good house closer to the church. I am fine and well,” was all he could say as he focused his attention on the proceedings of the night.

Gari was in the company of an unnamed aide.

According to his father, Mr Judah Zindi, of Zindi Village in Honde Valley, Gari developed mental problems when he visited his uncle.

Mr Zindi, a traditional healer, said that unfortunate incident opened the door for the devil to attack Gari who was tormented by a demon of insanity for 16 years during which he roamed aimlessly in Rusape’s Central Business District, Solo’s Bridge and Bus Terminus.

He used to spend winter nights at a local supermarket in the CBD and many people did nothing to help him until he was taken by a Good Samaritan – Mr Robert Ndlovu to PHD Headquarters where Prophet Magaya allegedly placed his hand on his forehead and exorcised the demons.

The demons left and he was healed and fully restored.

After his deliverance, Prophet Magaya extended a five-bedroomed house and money to help restore his livelihood and aid his healing process.

Prophet Magaya said the philanthropic gesture was meant to mend “invisible wounds” that could derail the intended outcome since victims of traumatic and other adverse conditions experience difficulties in navigating the current economic dispensation.

Meanwhile, thousands of people who turned out of the Night of Turn Around 5, were subjected to an assortment of musical menu.

Christ Embassy’s Blessing Manyangadze, alias Flame B, was the first on the stage, and the energetic artiste had the crowd eating from his palms.

Other musicians who had the crowd off their seats and dancing along with them include Mathias Mhere, Sebastian Magacha, Freeman, Yadah Voices, Keke Phofoolo, Winnie Mashaba, and Benjamin Dube, among others. Dube’s In Your Presence proved anthemic.

Prophet Magaya was on the stage by 11pm and started exorcising ‘demons’ some of which became aggressive and threatened to beat him.

When the hullabaloo with demons had subsidised, Prophet Magaya pronounced healing to the sick and hundreds dumped their wheelchairs, clutches and other assistive devices. They walked and danced energetically, ululated and whistled claiming they had been made well.

Prophet Magaya pitched his sermon on John 10:10 which says the devil is the enemy in people’s lives who came to steal, kill and destroy calling people to put their faith in God so as to reap good things and Esther 7:10.

He also preached against the demon of poverty.

The event drew international visitors from the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, China, Korea and from Southern African countries.

More than 900 clergies that include Prophets Paul Saungweme of Victory World International, Shame Hungwe of House of Grace Ministries and Sam Malunga of Tehillah Christian Network, were part of the guests who occupied the front seats together with senior Government officials and politicians such as Dr Chris Mushohwe, Mike Bimha, Tendai Savanhu, ZRP’s Assistant Commissioner Crispen Makedenge, Karikoga Kaseke and Kudzi Chipanga.
