A TOTAL of 17 teams in Mutare Pool League will converge at trendy watering hole Villa Spot in Dangamvura for a potentially explosive two day inter-club tournament.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow) and Sunday. Matches start at 2pm. With each time having an average of 20 players, it means more than 300 players will take part the tournament, the first for the 2018 season. Mutare Pool League chairman Fungai Makoni confirmed the event. “We are going to have all the clubs within the Mutare Pool League for this tournament. This is something that we intend to have at the end of every month till the end of the season,” said Makoni.
Mutare Pool League development chairman Phineus Mutapiri said each team will pay $20 to partake in the tournament. “This is a team tournament that we hope will help us foster a spirit of togetherness within our teams. Each team will have to pay $20 to take part in the tournament. We are expecting 17 teams to feature in the tournament. We will have a draw for the teams where participating teams will be grouped,” he said.
The game of pool has continued to attract more attention from prospective players and corporate partners as more tournaments are being held in different towns across the country.
