TALENTED vocalist, Pastor Tinashe Murigo makes a sensational return to the gospel music scene with a soulful album titled ‘‘Zvichanaka’’ that is impregnated with messages of hope and encouragement.
The ten-track album which is due for release this weekend will be officially launched on January 27 at Courtauld Theatre. Tinashe Murigo, who is the House of Power Apostolic Ministries Church leader, revealed in an interview that he worked with several producers on the album to diversify his sound. The producers include Charles Ayibeki, Wisla and Blessing Matanga.
“I roped in several producers to diversify my music. I want the album to have a distinct sound that will appeal to every gospel music lover,” he said.
The theme of the album was derived from Isaiah Chapter 3 verse 10 which reads, “Tell the righteous: It shall be well with thee”. Songs on the album are ‘‘Ndidzidzisei kunamata’’, ‘‘Mukandiraira’’ featuring Mr Blacks, Nicholas and Roesang, ‘‘Makuwerere’’, ‘‘Muchiri neni here’’ (acoustic version) and ‘‘Nemavanga ake’’.
“I composed the songs mainly from the listener’s standpoint. I would ask questions and answer them at the same time. I sing with one leg on the problem and another on the solution. The message makes it easy for listeners to listen to it,” said the Murigo.
Murigo rose to fame with hits such as ‘‘Senondo’’ and ‘‘Zvakabhadharwa’’ which topped Diamond FM Gospel Super 20. The soulful track, ‘‘Senondo’’, recorded by local producer Ngoni Mashezha, was one of his most popular songs to date.
He draws his inspiration from gospel musicians such as Agatha Murudzwa and Donna Chibaya.
