RUSAPE’S premier hospitality concern, Pamugodo Lodge, is geared up for the upcoming festive season and has set affordable packages that are meant to promote domestic tourism.1616

The lodge has slashed its rates in a deliberate bid to cater for all people of different pocket sizes who want to enjoy their hospitality services.

The move is line with what the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality has been encouraging tourism players to offer different and affordable packages as opposed to one size fits all pricing regime.

Pamugodo Lodge manager, Miss Shungu Chidawanyika, said as the leading player in the town where there is no a tourist attraction they had to be innovative and put in place mechanisms that will make locals and visitors enjoy quality services at affordable rates.

She added that Pamugodo Lodge stood the test of time in the unpredictable industry because they always adapt to changes and dance to market demands.

“Pamugodo Lodge is already in festive season gear.  We are ready to host our clients who want quality and affordable services.

“This festive season we are demystifying the wrong notion that hospitality services are only meant to be enjoyed by the rich and foreign tourists.

“We believe that luxury products such as hotels and lodges must be accessible to everyone at reasonable rates.

“The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality has been encouraging tourism businesses to review their pricing models and that is what we have done.

“We have slashed all our prices including rooms, food, beverages and conferencing so that we remain in business and making our products accessible by many.

“We believe those people who cannot afford to visit places such as Kariba or Victoria Falls can come to us and have a memorable festive season.

“We have three different categories of rooms which cater for the lower, middle and upper classes.

“Our executive bar is offering beverages at Delta recommended prices. During the course of the year we got business from companies, Government departments, non governmental organisations who had conferences here,’’ she said.

Miss Chidawanyika added they have set aside resources to carry out major renovations and construct new rooms and a much bigger executive bar to cater for the growing demand.

“Although we are on top of the game, we are not resting at all. January next year we are revamping all our rooms so that they are world class.

“We are also going to add more rooms and construct a new executive bar because the current one is now too small.

“We have already begun touch ups on our conference rooms to make the facilities more appealing.”
