VETERAN female runner, Constance Nyasango , last Sunday romped to victory in the second edition of the Old Mutual-sponsored 10km Dangamvura Fun Run.
In second position was Chiedza Chikore, while Patience Murowe came third.
For her efforts, Nyasango went home $400 richer, while Chikore and Murowe received $300 and $200 respectively.
In the open male category, Robson Chigodora came first and was followed by Milan Matende, while Jacob Mugomeri was third.
Veteran runner, Wirimayi Juwawo failed to make it into the top three and settled for fourth position and walked away with $150 for his efforts. The top three winners in the open male category also received the same prize money like their female counterparts. A total of 558 runners from all over the country participated in both the 10km and 5km races respectively.
Several clubs including Mutare Athletics Club, Black Rhinos, ZRP and ZPS were represented.
Dangamvura residents come out in their numbers to support the event.
Old Mutual availed $3 800 as sponsorship of the event, which had the following categories; open race (20-39 years), veterans (40-49 years), masters (50-59 years), grandmasters (60 and above) as well as high school categories.
