CELEBRATED gospel artiste, Kudzai Nyakudya, will mark his return to Mutare when he launches his much-awaited album, ‘‘Tsvimbo YaMoses’’ at a family show at Chancellor Primary School next Saturday.
The family show which is being organised by local radio station, Diamond FM will see revered gospel muso, Blessing Shumba also performing.
The project carries eight tracks which include, ‘‘Canaan’’, ‘‘Zunde Ramambo’’ and ‘‘Ndashaiwa’’ remix in which he features the legendary, ZCC Mbungo Brass Band. He also features Botswana-based producer and artiste, Dr Tawanda on the track ‘‘Hwai’’.
He said there was uniqueness in his new album as he featured the legendary ZCC Mbungo Brass Band which he described as unsung heroes in the country’s music industry.
“Recently, people seem to have been blindfolded by some kind of an inexplicable frenzy where they had completely ignored or forgotten most of the great names in music, gospel music in particular.
That is the main reason why I have featured and remixed the ZCC Mbungo Brass Band’s songs. It’s a fusion of two of their songs and the audience is going to love it.
“I am going back in history and taking those legendary artistes that people seem to have forgotten about. We need to give them back their glory and let them shine,” he said.
In his last album, Kudzi featured Vabati VaJehovha on his hit song, ‘‘Nguva Yakwana’’ and the track topped all chat shows on local radio stations.
