UPCOMING Afro-Jazz sensation Talent ‘Tkolo’ Ngwenya has released his groundbreaking album titled Dzinodhonza.

The Mutare-based singer released the album last week which has six songs. In an interview, the 30-year-old musician believes his music will inspire listeners of all ages.

Dzinodhonza expresses a multi-layered Afro-Jazz styling with rich melodies and rhythms and instrumentation well-blended together.

On Dzinodhonza, which is the title track, the singer lambasts people who discriminate physically-challenged people.

On the song, Zera, Ngwenya is a parent who will be advising his child not to fall to peer pressure but live in Godly ways.

The talented singer showers praises to all single mothers on the song, In my heroine, who works hard to raise their children on their own.

“It is an important song for me because I was raised by a single parent,” he said.

The album was recorded and produced by celebrated guitarist and producer, Clive Mono Mkundu of Monolio Studios.

“My dream is to create music that promotes and protects African ethics and culture. I want to become a well-recognised brand that preserves African culture through music. I also intend to become an ambassador for physically-challenged people. I’m impressed with the warm reception my project has received so far. I will soon work on producing videos for the song,” he added.

Ngwenya started his music career in 2005. He has so many singles under his name. He was inspired by his late uncle Paul Mzungu who was the front man of yesteryear Jazz outfit, Slam Boys.

He draws his inspiration from superstar Oliver Mtukudzi.

He is working with session musicians but hopes to have a band of his own any time this year. He will soon hold promotional shows across the country.
