MANICALAND Division Second Division Leaders, Major Absolom and Major Emma Makanga were installed at a colourful ceremony by the second in command in the Zimbabwe Territory, Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Lieutenant Colonels Daniel and Tracy Kasuso.

The newly installed Divisional leader, Majors Makanga took over from the inaugural Divisional leaders, Captains Simon Bernard and Prisca Chigiya who received marching orders to serve in Blantyre Division, Malawi Territory as Division Commander and Divisional Director for Women’s Ministries respectively on May 1, 2017.

In The Salvation Army, division is a number of the corps grouped together under the direction of Divisional Commander, operating within a territory. The Territorial Commander is the most senior officer in charge of the Army operations in a territory. The current T.C and TPWM Commissioners’ Joash and Florence Malabi who hails from Kenya sent their second in command Lt-Cols Kasuso to officiate at the installation on their behalf.

The Divisional Leaders, Majors Makanga in their joint role of sharing spiritual leadership and ministry, providing pastoral care and exemplifying the working partnership of Officer Couples became the Divisional Commander and Divisional Director for Women’s Ministries respectively.

They served as Corps Officers, Divisional youth leaders in various Divisions. Major Makanga also served as Territorial Youth Secretary and Territorial Cashier under Territorial Headquarters with his spouse Major E. Makanga serving as Territorial Corps Cadet Counsellor and Secretary to the Territorial commander.

They were Administrators at Usher Girls’ High School in Matebeland Division when they received their marching orders to Manicaland Division. Captain F AND B Manditsera remained the Divisional Youth Officer and Divisional Young Women Fellowship Secretary.

The Salvation Army Manicaland Division covers the geographical area of Manicaland Province. The Divisional Headquarters exists to support the Territorial Commander as he leads the Salvation Army Zimbabwe to accomplish its God- given mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs without discrimination.

The Divisional Commander for Women’s Ministries is responsible for spiritual leadership, promotion of the development projects and spiritual life within the division.

The Divisional commander also serves to empower and support the Corps in his Division, encourage and pastorally care for Corps Officers and inspire local vision and initiatives.

The Salvation Army came to Zimbabwe in 1892 and this year is on a Whole World Mobilising campaign in an effort to save that lost soul which has not yet received Christ.
