SENIOR Assistant Commissioner Wiklef Makamache is the new Officer Commanding Police in Manicaland.
He takes over from Senior Assistant Commissioner Dorothy Kupara, who is now the Chief Staff Officer (Administration) at the Police General Headquarters, in Harare.
Before his new posting, Snr Ass Comm Makamache was based at the PGHQ as the director for finance.
In an interview on Wednesday Snr Ass Comm Makamache said he looked forward to working well and combating all forms of crime in Manicaland.
“I will be in the office on Monday and I will share with you the vision I have for the province,” he said.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has reshuffled at least 700 senior officers from ranks between Superintendent and Senior Assistant Commissioner as part of an ongoing restructuring exercise.
Of the 700, 128 are Assistant Commissioners and Senior Assistant Commissioners while the rest are Superintendents and Chief Superintendents.
