“We are going ahead with the plans to set up a basketball academy. The name of the academy is Eastern Hoops Academy.

“Together with Innocent Sithole, we came up with the idea after realising that there is little that is being done to develop talent in basketball apart from the school calendar where at times youngsters do not have access to experienced and expert mentorship.0208-9-1-STOLZ

“The programme starts running from Wednesday and we already have youngsters who have registered and we are hoping to have more coming through. For starters, we are going to have this during the holiday and depending with the turn-up we might go into schools when they reopen for third term,” said Muyambo.

The talented national team player who gained international experience during his stay and participation in overseas leagues, said: “Well, I had good experience in Germany and Tunisia. Kids are taught the game at an early age. They develop to become great players from that stage. We do not have that here in Zimbabwe and we thought it necessary to do the same,” said Muyambo.
