My Sister, I have a problem that is giving me sleepless nights. My father raped me several times when I was 13. Eight years later, I am still being traumatised by the experience. I do not trust men and I cannot keep relationships. My marriage failed because I would cry every evening before bed. My husband tried to help me, but I was not ready. Now I have a child, but no love.

Rape is not something one can get over in just a few moments. It is sad that the person who created this horrible experience for you is your father. A man who was supposed to protect you brought harm on you. It is my hope that you reported him and due legal action was taken. However, your life must go on. Find a counsellor to walk you out of the imaginary cage that is closing you in as a prisoner. You are not a victim, but a survivor. You will love again and find happiness.
