Dear Tete Barbara
I am a 32 year old working man living with my father and his new wife. My life was less complicated before my dad remarried this girl nine years after divorcing my mother. Five years ago, my dad decided to bring a young girl who is almost my age home as his wife. Tete, this girl is threatening my relationship with my father as she always passes what seem to be sexual advances at me.
At first, I thought I was imagining things but when she started walking into my bedroom in transparent nighties showing her nipples, I knew she meant business. I can not imagine having to tell my dad that his girl is on to me. Help me, I don’t want to lose my dad over this loose canon.

It is clear that you love and respect your father, but you have to approach this matter with extreme caution. Firstly , ignore those advances! Trying to talk to your stepmother about her actions could actually backfire on you and get you in trouble so tread carefully. If she decides to get your father into the picture she could twist the whole story making it unpleasant for you.
Remember that your father loves this woman so much he decided to marry her and anyone trying to come ‘in between’ could easily become the ‘enemy’ fighting against his happiness. If you can not trust anyone close to discreetly help you out with this issue,I suggest that you move out of the family house and begin your own life.
Without taking away anything from your observations and personal feelings, is it possible that you are just seeing things that aren’t really happening or that your step mom doesn’t even realise what she is doing to you? Clearly being the same age as you is uncomfortable for you as you continuously refer to her as ‘young girl’.
She is your father’s wife however young she may be and deserves to be treated as you would your own mother difficult as it may prove to be. Make a decision that will not harm your relationship with your old man.
