Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my singular honour to welcome you to this inaugural Megafest Eastern Region Business Awards. To those from outside this province, I say Welcome to the Eastern rich border town.”
Our theme this evening is “A brighter future for Zimbabwe is possible.” The year 2017 marks 9 years for Megafest’s existence and their aim and vision has been consistent to be the cheerleaders of business.
They should be commended for the job they have been doing in the 9 years to promote, recognise and give a pat at the back to those that have been doing well in the business.
It is even more exciting to understand that what started off as a Bulawayo thing has become a national thing and who knows this brand can become a regional brand I have got confidence in it. I long for a day in the very near future where we will witness and hear of a SADC Megafest Business Awards.
I am proud to be associated with such a brand that has taken a very positive look regardless of the current discord on the ground and they are confident that Zimbabwe can have a brighter future.
The onus is upon all of us now especially those that are going to receive awards tonight to prove to all of us and the nation at large that you are worth the award you are going to receive.
Awards are not for display but they are like a souvenir reminding you that once upon a time you did something good.
An award alone is empty if it is not backed by achievements. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time that we as business leaders start living a legacy with uncompromised principles because it is what we are doing today that will set a strong precedent.
I have noticed that Megafest is apolitical and you have remained business oriented guided by proper business ethics and therefore remain resolute in discharging services to your clients.
Congratulations to every winner and nominee tonight.
Gob bless you.
