VETERAN dancer and Mr Ugly pageant founder, David “Apama” Machowa, aims to popularise his comic dancing antics outside Harare when he performs at Club Mandisa tomorrow (Saturday).
Apama, whose video clip dancing to Soul Jah Love’s ‘‘Pamamonya Ipapo’’ in Ngezi, has gone viral on social media, promised to put up a sterling and well choreographic act when he meets his fans in the eastern border city for a maiden show as a main act.
Show organiser, Boniface Nyamanhindi, said they decided to bring the dancing king to Mutare after bowing down to pressure from his fans who enjoy his comic dancing skills.
He can dance to any song – danceable or not – and can mimic most musicians’ style in a comic way that has endeared him with a legion of fans from across the country.
“Our patrons could not get enough of him when he performed at the venue, though as a supporting act. This time he is performing as the main act and that will give him more time to show fun lovers what he is made up of. He is a performer par-excellence,” he said.
The gifted entertainer said: “It will be a memorable show. We will not disappoint. We know what we are expected of. We will introduce new dances. We always strive to do better and make sure that we leave our fans clamouring for more.”
