A BRIGHT Milestone College pupil did himself and his school proud after he came first in the country’s Cambridge ‘O’ Level Computer Science examinations.

Mazano Kundiso Kuhudzai (16) sat for 10 subjects and came up with impressive results. He had 7A*s 2As and 1C and is now studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science A Level at the same school.

The school which is located 45 km out of Rusape along the Rusape-Nyanga Highway is run by educationist and businesswoman Mrs Molly T. Mupfunya. Kuhudzai said he was very happy to be named as the best Computer Science student in the country after scoring 94 percent during examinations.

“When I was informed that I am the best student nationally in Computer Science I was so happy and excited. I always try my level best to achieve greatness in whatever I do.

“I worked so hard and prepared well for the examinations and I am happy that I excelled very well. It is not a mean feat to be named the best nationally because there were many candidates who sat the IGCSE 2017 for Computer Science.

“I dedicate this award to my parents, my teacher Mr Kuziwa Matsenyengwa and all my classmates because they all played a part in my success story.

“Right now I am doing Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science at Advanced Level. My wish is to study Software Programming at university. I want to encourage other learners to study hard and succeed in life. Everything is possible,” he said.

Milestone College Director of Services and Studies, Rudo Hunkedza, said their institution is on cloud nine following Kuhudzai’s commendable achievement.

“When the news was delivered to us at first we were shocked but we later settled down because this is a result of our hard work and determination. We are very proud of our pupil’s achievement. Here we produce all round learners who are versatile in all disciplines be it educational or co-curricular.

“Here at Milestone College we have passion for our work, we go an extra mile to extract the best from our learners. Teaching here is a calling,” she said.
