RUSAPE-BASED gospel musician, Peter Anthony Masuka, has released another album, ‘‘Zvasiyana’’ which is proving that like wine, the talented singer has improved with age and experience.

Zvasiyana  carries eight inspirational songs which include the title track, Zvasiyana, a collaboration that he did with another top gospel musician, Blessing Shumba and other tracks include ‘‘Chimbofunga Wega’’, ‘‘Jesu Muponesi’’, ‘‘Great Is Your Name’’, ‘‘Mweya Mutsvene’’, ‘‘Usatye’’, ‘‘Hokoyo neNhamo ‘‘and ‘‘Chaunodayara’’.

The True Vision Gospel Singers leader has in the past released albums such as ‘‘Rangarira’’, ‘‘Toimba Haleluya’’, ‘‘Chokwadi’’, ‘‘Gore Rino’’, and ‘‘Bani Remarangwanda’’, all of which were well received by music lovers.  ‘‘Zvasiyana’’ is indeed a different album as Masuka introduced new styles, beats and also for the first time did an English song, Great Is Your Name.

Masuka who usually performs at weddings, church galas and other private functions, said he would try to balance pressing work conditions and do more live shows in response to the demand from his followers. ‘‘Zvasiyana’’ was recorded and produced at Kunashe Studios by Olin Anderson and Masuka said he had high hopes that the album would surpass the success achieved by his previous albums. “We are glad to the Almighty God that our eighth album is now out and available on the market.  ‘‘The reception so far is positive as all radio stations are playing the songs. As usual, we put all our maximum efforts so that we give people the best while spreading the good Word of God.

“The English track Great Is Your Name is a respond to requests by some of our followers who do not understand Shona.  ‘‘We want all people to enjoy our music.  ‘‘We perform in different parts of the country and people in Beitbridge where we perform regularly have requested us to do a song in Venda. “Basically the theme of this album is to remind people that there is a God in heaven who defeated the devil.

‘‘God fought for Daniel in the lion’s den and he survived and he still can fight for us all.

God can shift us to a higher level,” Masuka said.
