LOCAL actress and producer, Amanda Ranganawa is end of this month set to score a first by launching a romantic movie titled “All she Wants” to her Mutare audience.
In an interview, Ranganawa, who was last year expected to venture into the American movie industry by enrolling at a renowned arts school, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, after she was awarded a scholarship to study towards an Honours Degree in Acting for stage and screen in USA said she will officially launch it on January 20.
Through her film studio, MacLara Films Production, the talented actress revealed that the movie was shot in different parts of the country.
“All She Wants” is a film about a young, independent business woman (Amanda Ranganawa) who is trying to manage her late father’s estate in a professional way. Unfortunately, her mother (Everjoice Mahachi) and rich fiancée (Dearly T Kanyaz) try to take that away from her. Themes of love, betrayal and power dominate the movie,” she said.
“I am looking forward to getting people’s responses. I spent more than a year to come up with such an exciting script and production. With the support I got from stakeholders, I believe this would be my ground breaking product,” she added.
Ranganawa said her film studio aims to create employment among youths and nurture the talent of aspiring actors, actresses, filmmakers and producers and be able to earn a living.
The film studio also offers courses in scriptwriting, directing, and graphic design among other things.
“We are even working on a new film called Contagious which I also wrote. It is an action packed film about revenge, betrayal, love, business, hatred and reconciliation. Those aspiring to be movie actors and actresses are welcome to audition. The audition posters will be in the streets by end of this month.
