AFTER a successful three-year stint of producing albums for most upcoming gospel artistes in Mutare, local producer, Olin Anderson has now set his eyes on the regional market.

Anderson, who dabbles as a producer and keyboardist for celebrated gospel musician, Blessing Shumba’s band, has worked with more than 50 artistes across all genres and has recorded more than 100 albums since he became a professional producer.

He recorded Botswana’s self-acclaimed king of kwaito kwasa, Odirile Sento, affectionately known as Vee’s new four singles when they toured the neighbouring country with Shumba early this year.

Anderson is the founder of Kunashe Studios situated in the sprawling suburb of Chikanga and he is famed for co-producing Blessing Shumba’s platinum album, Holy Psalms Volume

1.“I wish to improve my brand by working with regional artistes in Mozambique, Zambia and Botswana. So far we have recorded singles on Vee’s singles collection, Supernatural Volume

2. It was my first time and I must say I learnt a lot from the expedition.

“I learnt a lot through recording various musicians who would come aboard with new styles. I recently engaged several musicians from Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia whom I am not prepared to name now, but we are on the verge of signing contracts.

“Artistes from these neighbouring countries admire our music, particularly the unique presentation and diversity. Our sungura and gospel beats are a marvel to many,” said Anderson.

The youthful producer, who is also a videographer, has produced albums for musicians such as, among them Ellen Anderson, Blessing Shumba, Mai Makoni, Jairos Mutambikwa, Voice of Praise, Augustine Malunga and Sakubva All Stars.

However, credit must be given to the young lad for co-producing Shumba’s latest album, Calvary, which was well received and did well on the market.
