Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea will split the cost of a private jet to get their Brazilian players back early for this weekend’s Premier League fixtures.

Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, who have been instrumental in helping Liverpool reach the top of the table, are in Peru for a World Cup qualifier along with, among others, City midfielder Fernandinho and Chelsea winger Willian.

The game in Lima does not kick-off until the early hours of Wednesday but to avoid the prospect of the players not returning to England before Friday, Liverpool, City and Chelsea will contribute £30 000 each for the hire of a Gulfstream Jet that will be waiting to leave after kick-off.

Paris St Germain will also make a similar contribution to get Brazil captain Thiago Silva back ahead of schedule. Coutinho, who has been linked with Barcelona, has been one of the star of the season so far.

He has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current terms and Liverpool have no interest in entertaining any enquiries for the midfielder.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will not rival Borussia Dortmund in January when it comes to deciding the future of Mahmoud Dahoud.

The Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder had been a prime target for Jurgen Klopp during the last window but their interest has now cooled.

Klopp is considering all options ahead of the next window. He wants to strengthen his squad with a winger but will only do if the right profile target emerges. – Daily Mail.
