PATRICK Kluivert’s son Justin follows in his father’s footsteps by scoring his first senior goal for Ajax aged 17.Justin Kluivert scored his first goal for his father’s old club Ajax as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Excelsior in Eredivisie.

Justin latched onto a cross from winger Hakim Ziyech in the 32nd minute to score his side’s equaliser, tucking home from close range before running off in celebration.

The 17-year-old has made 11 appearances for the Ajax first team so far – mainly featuring as a right winger.

Justin followed in his father’s footsteps by coming through the famed Ajax youth academy before breaking into the first team.

Patrick spent three seasons playing for Ajax’s first team – scoring 39 goals in 70 league appearances.

He then moved to AC Milan on a free transfer in 1997 before spells at Barcelona, Newcastle, Valencia, PSV and finally Lille.

But Justin wasn’t the only familiar name on display on Sunday – as Ajax fell six points behind leaders Feyenoord ahead of the match between the two sides on April 2.

Former Chelsea and Leeds forward Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink’s nephew Nigel came off the bench for Excelsior with 15 minutes remaining.

Nigel joined the Rotterdam-based club in 2015 after spells in Scotland with St Mirren, St Johnstone and Hamilton Academical.

Justin will be hoping to develop into a world class player as his father did and he will have been given the best possible footballing education – coming through the same academy which produced Johan Cruyff, Frank Rijkaard and Dennis Bergkamp among others. – Online
