PREVIOUS editions of Miss Poly beauty pageants have attracted scores of fun lovers and pleasure seekers within the entertainment circles of Mutare, particularly because of performing artistes and other festivities that would characterise the night.

This year’s modelling pageant slated for Golden Peacock Villa Hotel tomorrow (Saturday) is yet another potentially-intriguing fiesta as Zim-dancehall sensation, Killer T will be performing for the first time, both at the event and at the venue.

Other budding Zim-dancehall artistes, Ricky Fire, Freeman, Dboi and Sparxx have graced previous modelling pageants before and have never disappointed. The show will see Killer T presenting some newest compositions such as ‘‘Ndizviponde Here’’ and ‘‘Yolanda’’ to his appreciative fans from the eastern border city.

As a panel of judges will be choosing the crème de la crème of beauties at the institution, the ‘‘Takangodaro’’ hit-maker will serenade the audience in between the contest which is expected to run for the whole night.

“Preparations are at an advanced stage and we are expecting yet another exciting edition.

‘‘We are expecting Killer T to provide entertainment during the night. Besides the Zim-dancehall artiste, we have also lined up a galaxy of local artistes to provide entertainment during the contest,” said one of the organisers.

The multi-award winning artiste, who is known for a signature sound PoPoPo is inspired by life in ghetto.

Some of his popular songs are ‘‘Tirikumhanya’’, ‘‘Ziso Rako Hameno’’ and ‘‘Mamero’’, among other songs.

He won the 2016 best Zim-dancehall artiste gong.

He also won the best collaboration with Fungisai Zvakavapano for the song, ‘‘Vanondibatirana’’.

The hotel’s entertainment manager, Willard “Widzo” Madhombiro, said it was all systems go.

“We are ready to host yet another edition of the pageant. We are expecting a bigger and better pageant. We are quite aware that fun lovers in Mutare will come in their numbers and be part of the jamboree.

‘‘We are ready for that. We are proud to be associated with such events as a hotel that provides exciting entertainment events,” he said.
