NIGHT of partying turned nasty at Mandisa Nightclub after a woman was hit with a beer bottle by a jealous lover who thought she wanted to snatch her man.
Ruvimbo Tasiyanyika (19) was arrested for assaulting Runha Rubende (37) after assuming that Rubende was making advances on her man, whereas it was the man who had poured beer on Rubende.
Mutare magistrate, Mr Innocent Bepura presided over the matter.
Tasiyanyika pleaded guilty to the charges.
Public prosecutor, Mr Fletcher Karombe, told the court that on March 11 around 4am at Mandisa Nightclub, Rubende had a misunderstanding with a man only identified as John after he had poured beer on her back.
While Rubende was busy questioning John, Tasiyanyika came and grabbed her by the shoulder. He hit her with a beer bottle.
In her defence, Tasiyanyika told the court that she was drunk and was not in control of her actions.
Mr Bepura adjourned the case to Wednesday as the court was still waiting for Rubende’s medical report.
