MILITARY Touch Movement giants, Jah Prayzah and Andy Muridzo headline the potentially-explosive gig slated for tonight (Friday) in Chivhu meant to celebrate the life of local promoter, Isau Mupfumi’s late mother, Lucy who passed on in February.

This will be their maiden gigs at the venue, Mbuya Lucy Shopping Centre, formerly known as Magamba Shopping Centre. It was christened the new name in honour of Lucy who was laid to rest in Chinjekure Village on February 26.

Patrons will part with $5.

The show starts at 7pm till the following day.

The entertainment joint is situated 20km from Chivhu along Buhera Road.

The gig is expected to draw pleasure seekers from areas like Buhera, Murambinda, Madamombe and Nharira among other areas.

It is set to liven up the sleepy areas which are usually starved of such bombshell of entertainment.

Muridzo, fondly known as Baba Keketso, is currently riding high with an above average album, ‘‘Tichambotenderera’’ which comprises hits such as the title track, ‘‘Emma’’ (featuring Jah Prayzah) and ‘‘Memo’’.

Other fine songs contained on the album are ‘‘Dhibhi Remhuru’’, ‘‘Ndirangarirei’’ and ‘‘Chingoma Cherudo’’.

Jah Prayzah, a performer par excellence is also expected to send fun lovers into delirium.

His well-choreographed acts usually leave fans clamouring for more.

‘‘Sendekera’’ featuring Mafikizolo, ‘‘Watora Mari’’, featuring Diamond Platinumz, ‘‘Soja Rinosvika Kure’’, ‘‘Eriza’’, ‘‘Jerusarema’’, ‘‘Mudhara Vachauya’’ and ‘‘Ndide Ndikude’’ are some of his danceable tracks.

He is also expected to sample songs from his forthcoming album due to be released before the end of year.

Organiser of the show, Isau Mupfumi, said it was all systems go.

“This is the beginning of greater things ahead. We refurbished the venue and renamed it Mbuya Lucy Shopping Centre and entertainment joint in honour of my mother. We will host an array of upcoming and established artistes. Buhera and Chivhu are no longer going to be sleepy again. Preparations are at an advanced stage and we are expecting to host more than a thousand fun lovers at the venue,” he said.
