I am a 23-year-old lady who has been keeping herself for one guy for a number of years. Sometime last year, I decided to be intimate with my boyfriend for the first time. We continued doing so for a year. I thought that he was ready for marriage and that perhaps if I gave in to into his needs, he would do the honourable thing. Unfortunately, I learnt the hard way that he is an animal. He dumped me for an older woman with two children. I do not know what he saw in her that I cannot give him.

Waiting for marriage is a good format that kept our grandmothers and mothers safe from the cunning men who prey on vulnerable girls. It is sad that nowadays girls think that giving away the honey is the best way to get the money. Men do not marry you because you are a virgin or because you are beautiful, young, stylish or intelligent. A man will marry a woman for his own personal desires. I know you are heartbroken, but keep breathing. . . a heartbreak is just a bruised ego. Pick yourself up, dust up and wake up. Keep moving. You have learnt your lesson and that makes you powerful. Just be positive, be wise and be effective in life. Now, you go out into the world with your head up and be the best for you. Empowered you can do anything.
