AN estranged mother of three on Monday told the court that her ex-husband claimed that he was locked so he could not father children with any other woman besides her.Priviledge Shamiso Zingwanda and Ernest Fenyeni appeared before Mr Poterai Gwezhira with the later seeking downwards maintenance from $90 to $50.

The two separated in July this year following Fenyeni’s failure to meet his family needs.

Prior to that, he was ordered to pay $90 for the upkeep of his three children in March this year.

The three children are aged six, four years and eight-months-old.

He told the court that he now has another wife and a kid to take care of, so the load was becoming too much for him.

“I now have another wife and a child to take care of so I cannot continue paying the $90.

“Despite that, I am having challenges with my health so I cannot go out there and work,” said Fenyeni.

Asked to produce a birth certificate for the child that he was claiming to have sired with his new wife, the father of three told the court that he had not yet acquired a birth certificate for the child.

In response, Zingwanda told the court that he separated with Fenyeni in July and she knew nothing about his new wife and child.

“He is lying, he is staying alone. He told me that he is locked and he cannot have sex with any other woman besides me so how did he father a child with that woman he is claiming to have married?

“Still the $90 that he is paying is too little for the needs of my three children. The eldest child is starting Grade One next year and he should have been adding more money than going down to $50.

“He owes me money because he did not pay half of the money he was supposed to pay last month,” said Zangwanda.

Mr Gwezhira dismissed Fenyeni’s application and ordered him to continue paying the $90.
