A SERIES of misfortunes that saw a talented Dangamvura-based gospel artiste on wheelchair and struggling to sit and walk has inspired him to release an eight-track album titled “Zvakandiwira”.

A galaxy of gospel artistes who include Rusape-based Agatha Murudzwa, Ellen Anderson, Admire Nago, Dorcas Moyo, Rev Mponde, Moscow Pembere and Donald Simba will grace the album launch ceremony scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) at Courtauld Theatre.

“Last year was the worst moment of my life. I was sick and I almost lost hope.

“My legs and hands got burnt and I was on wheelchair.

“I composed songs during this difficult period and they would comfort me. This launch is special to me because it reminds me of how I started this music journey.

“I dedicate the album to my mother, pastors Majoni and Nyabadza, my manager Rev Muponde among others who took care of me during the period. I look forward to have a successful album launch,” he said.

Songs contained on the album are “Gore’, “Tinotenda”, ‘‘Zvakandiwira”, “He took my pain away”, “Anotida”, “Tisanyengere Mwari”, “Elshaddai” and “Mbiri”.

Samupindi started singing at a tender age of 13 at Rujeko Primary in Dangamvura.

He nurtured his musical career through joining musical groups such as Amen gospel crusade praise team, AFM dangamvura central choral group, Vessels of honour choral group among others.

The album which was produced by Olin Anderson at Kunashe studios carries messages of hope. He advises listeners to pin their hope and trust in God and have faith in him in season and out of season.

“People should always believe in God in all circumstances. It is important to stay positive even in the face of adversities,” said Samupindi.
