Primary schools in Chipinge West constituency meet in various venues as they clash for a ticket to the semi-finals of the Goko tournament in two disciplines namely football and netball.
They will be held this weekend simultaneously at Manesa, Tanganda, Musani and Goko primary schools. The co-ordinator of the Goko tournament, Chaya, confirmed that this weekend (28 June 2014) sees schools battle it out in those venues.

This time around it will be a round-robin tournament with the top team qualifying for the semi-finals to be held on 12 July. Winners of the semi-finals will meet on 26 July at Goko Primary School. Among the dignitaries expected to attend the finals is the Chipinge West Member of Parliament, Adam Chimwamurombe. Last year Maunganidze Primary School scooped the netball and football accolades in the finals that were held in hot conditions.

Goko High School took the honours in football at secondary school level while Musani won the netball tourney. It remains to be seen whether the defending champions will retain their trophies this time around.

Meanwhile, the people in the communities where the galas are going to be held wait with bated breath for mouth-watering action this coming weekend.
