MUTARE’S flagship women football outfit Faith Drive became the first team to breach Black Rhinos’ four-year unbeaten run when they made full use of the home advantage to beat the army side by a solitary goal.

The match was played at Nyamauru High School on last Saturday.

The Harare giants had gone for four years without tasting defeat in the Zimbabwe Women’s Super League.

Following his team’s triumph last weekend Faith Drive coach Admire Mahachi believes his charges were at their peak and can produce another positive result in their clash against Blue Swallows in Harare tomorrow.

Black Rhinos are currently on top of the log with 61 points.

Faith Drive are eighth with 19 points.

A goal from Mighty Warriors midfielder Maud Mafuruse was enough to deliver a sweet victory for the Mutare side.

Mafuruse found the back of the net after eight minutes of play.

Faith Drive was more organised and made their intentions known from the first whistle.

Mahachi said he is not reading much into their win against Rhinos.

He said the club has shifted their focus to the next game.

“We played very well against the log leaders and we hope to build up from that game and continue with our fine form. We are aware that our current position on the log is not good enough at four wins, four draws and nine loses” he said.
