IT’S only through God’s grace and power that the church can become a caring and warm community of faith where all kinds of people are accepted, loved, transformed and delivered from ignoramus bondage to illuminate freedom with a feeling of belonging.

Often times Christians feel lost or out of sorts with daily shocks of life, warranting rejuvenation and refocusing.

Life can be so disenchant that one hardly envisages anything captivating coming out of it.

Despite the bad side of things, God is faithful and gracious. It goes to show that God always knows what He is doing, even when we do not know what we are doing or when we make mistakes.

And it is against that background that New Ministries International founder, Prophet Peter Shokobishi, has lined up the EXODUS Conference in Rusape.

The three-day event will be held at Vengere 602 Hall.

It starts this Friday evening ending on Sunday.

Evening services start at 6pm.

The conference theme is: “Exodus” (Ex 14).

“Let’s pray . . . the presence, anointing, and refreshing of the Holy Spirit will transform, empower, and bless each one of us with the fresh unction of the Holy Spirit and a ‘fired-up passion’ to exist poverty, sickness, ignorance, mediocrity and what the crixification of Jesus Christ has pre-destined us,” said Prophet Shokobishi.

One speaker, Apostle Edward Mandundu, will bring a wide and international flavour to the conference.

Prophet Shokobishi encouraged Christians from various denominations to attend as he anticipates a powerful presence of God.

The conference is an opportunity for Christians to introspect deeper within and interrogate themselves “what is missing in our lives?

“And that is exactly what I pray will occur in the hearts and lives of all those who will attend — that the fire of the Holy Spirit will infuse believers with such power, such passion that it will be palpable when they enter rooms and ultimately lead to a revival that will shake the world onto its knees as Christians embark on an exodus from their various restrictive situations to total freedom.

“There is going to be miracles, there is going to be outstanding works of God in this town. Make it a very, very special attempt to be at this conference because God is going to do some marvellous things in our midst as He gives His children the divine direction or missing link to the Promised Land,” said the bulky cleric.

Prophet Shokobishi argued that to make an impact that transforms the community, the church must first transform itself by coming to terms with what is no longer working or needed in its life.

This is what the evangelistic campaign will be preparing the church, ostensibly, to focus, simplify, and prioritise.
