AN Art and Design student at Chinhoyi University and Technology will next week exhibit her artefacts at Mutare Museums as she winds up her exhilarating journey in the arts sector.
Loveness Kodzanayi told The Weekender that as part of her final year assessment, she was expected to curate her works she has done during the four-year degree programme dating from August 2012.

The exhibition will roar to life from November 8 to November 10 under the theme: “Seed of creativity”.

The official opening day will be held on November 10 at 12 noon.

“I chose this theme because learning is an on-going process. With all the knowledge that I have attained and the assistance that I have received from stakeholders, I am now off-loading the pressure and showcasing the artworks I have been keeping all along.

“Through my theme, I seek to encourage the younger generation, to be determined, have a positive mind and work hard. These are the ingredients for success and if mixed well they can bear good fruits. I will showcase a variety of genres in two dimensional artworks in categories such as drawings, textile, print making, fashion designs, photographs, graphics design and advertising materials,” she said.

Kodzanai was born in Mushipe in Chikomba and grew up in Mutare. She did her Ordinary Level at Nyangani High school. She obtained a National Certificate in Applied Art and Design, and National Diploma in Textile Design at Mutare Poly.
